a bOy with biOnic lEgs

Kat Reid, a 13 years old cancer patient, has become the first ever recipient of a new, cutting edge bionic leg.
Reid, whop hails from Wimbledon, South West London, immediately grabbed the opportunity, saying, "I would rather be the first to have the new invention, than the last person to have the old one.
The revolutionary bone implant, a 9,000=pounds-sterling(&14,00) device, was conceptualize at the University College London. It consists of a specially designed electromagnetic box placed over the leg and which then activates a gearbox that extends the leg little by little over time, thereby mimicking natural growth. It also saves Kat the trouble of going through six more operations at the least.
